Theres something about palazzo pants that I absolutely adore.  I don't know if its that it often hides the fact that I haven't had a pedicure in weeks, or that it provides all the benefits of feeling like your not wearing pants while preventing you from getting you arrested.  But whatever the reason is I can't get enough of them.  Last summer I got my first pair, and was a little skeptical they may look very "that 70;s show" but they were actually super cute.  So instead of getting just one pair I went ahead and decided to get two.

They tend to pair really well with a body suit or something a little more fitted up top to balance out how wide and flowy they are.  Although I got this particular pair from H&M ages ago theres a few cute pairs available herehere, and here.  If you want an outfit option thats boho, stylish, and hella comfy this is definitely a prime choice.

Everyone that knows me knows I am a habitual shopper.  And working in a clothing store does not help because not a shift goes by where I don't leave with a bag of something.  Not the best decision for my pockets but it always makes me and my closet very happy.  Even with all the clothes I've accumulated ( 2 closets and 2 dressers full to be exact) lately I just feel like I can't put an outfit together to save my life.  The solution seems to be to buy more clothes, but then I just end up with more options and still no decisions about what to wear when it's time to go out.

So the other day I stumbled on a youtube video by a hair vlogger I adore " NotoriousKia" where she went over 5 different ways to style a button up shirt.  Needless to say, it was one of the most life changing events of my existence upon this earth.  Ok, maybe that was a bit of an over exaggeration, but it was a pretty awesome discovery.

So I decided for this look to do a classic off the shoulder style.  And I can't wait to share a few other cool ways to I styled this shirt as well ( you will have to stay tuned for that).

Overall, it was such a relief to find a flirty and fun way to style one of the million button down shirts that sits collecting dust in my closet.

The Spongebob Dress

This summer brought along a lot of trends, and as we all know,  the best trends tend to be recycled from fashions past.  This particular style has proved to be a continuous favorite.  No matter how old I have gotten or what part of me has decided to grow I have always felt there is something particularly sexy about a woman's shoulders.  I remember being 16 and trying to convince my mom that the spandex off the shoulder forever 21 top was totally appropriate for little old 14 year old me.  Needless to say that was always a losing battle with her.  Now as an adult in the "almost 30 club" I find myself gravitating towards styles that highlight that area of the body.  I could not even tell you how many off the shoulder items I purchased this summer ( you don't even want to know... yeah it's that ridiculous).  Anyway,  they are an amazing addition to every wardrobe and if you don't have one yet I'm not quite sure what exactly you're waiting for.

This particular top is actually a shift dress that I picked up from H&M form their trend line ( my absolute favorite of all the lines they carry).  I was helping a woman check out and she pulled this lovely little number out of her bag and said she wanted to return it because it made her look like spongebob.  At first glance I could understand exactly why she felt that way, shift dresses can be very difficult to style at times.  Because they have such a boxy shape it can either make you look super thin, lean, and elegant, or well....like spongebob.  After watching it sadly hang from the rack of go backs a super bright idea popped into my head and I decided maybe we could give this little spongebob dress a new life by wearing it as a top, and thats exactly what this gal did.  With a handy dandy hair tie, a lot of tucking and one happy dance later I created this bright and sunny little outfit.

So the moral of this long tale is, before you count an outfit out think of all the many possibilities.

Last days of Summer

It's with great sadness that I announce that it is almost time to say goodbye to summer.  The BBQ's, Day parties, Pool Parties,  summer kick back jammy jams, its all coming to cold and frigid end.  The feeling is pretty bitter sweet, since theres nothing I love more then thigh high boots and chunky sweaters, but I'm going to miss the golden brown tan on my skin, the cute mini dresses without tights, and the sun shining far into the evening.  But since we have about a week left I figured I would try to squeeze in a few of my summer faves before my time runs out.

At the top of that list are all my tube top dresses.  They are so sexy and easy to dress up or dress down.  You can throw them on with a pair of sneakers and denim jacket like I did here or throw on a pair of strappy heels and statement necklace, and blazer for a more polished look.  I could probably rattle off about 20 different ways to wear them but I'll spare you the details.  What I will tell you is they are a closet staple and if you don't have one yet, stop reading and start buying lol.

The past couple weeks have been filled with a crazy work schedule and serious life decisions.  Although I am a very hard worker, when I am anxious about decisions or tasks I become a master procrastinator and lately I haven't been feeling at my very best.  One of the ways that I combat this is fashion. I know it sounds quite cliche from a fashion blogger, but hear me out.  Its so easy to wake up feeling crappy and throw on sweats and sulk around while everyone pities you and asks you whats wrong,  but what good does that do you?  You know how people say you are what you eat, well in my mind you feel how you look.  You look like crap, well ... you're going to feel like it as well.  So lately, no matter how tired or lazy I feel I have been making an effort to look my best.   Walking around feeling well put together helps me to feel at my best for the day.  So the point of all my chatter is, get up, look your best, and be the best version of you.  Life is short, don't waste a single day feeling sorry for yourself.  LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!!!!

A Love Letter to 29

It is officially the end of an era.  I entered this decade excited to finally be an age where I felt like an adult.  I was finally grasping and finding my independence; a young girl who believed she had it all figured out.  I spent my time obtaining my bachelors degree, building new friendships, experiencing new things, and learning all the panful lessons.  As I stare at 29 I sometimes find myself wondering if I have yet accomplished enough.  I spend my time constantly scrolling away comparing my progress in life to those in my age bracket.  I will admit I am certainly my toughest critic.  So this year I want to flourish in areas that I may have neglected before.  There are soooo many things I want to accomplish but allow my fear of failure to hinder me.  So to you 29, I promise to be the best version of myself possible.  I promise to put forth all of my effort towards any and everything I want to accomplish.  I promise to accept God's "no's" not as failures but with an understanding that he has a plan to provide better.  I promise to focus on spiritual, emotional, and mental growth.  But most importantly I promise to live unapologetically, laugh constantly, and love selflessly.

28 we had a great time and made some amazing memories but it's time for us to part ways. I will make this last year of my 20's absolutely unforgettable.
